In Kynnefjäll there is a large number of lakes and streams where calmness and serenity rule and you can be on your own with nature. The stream Örekilsälven and the lake Kärnsjön are the fishing waters that are closest to the tourist centre. The measure of good fishing is not only the size of the fish but the experience och the feeling you can get from the stay in nature. The waters which contains much fish has more than 14 different kinds of fish. In some of the mountain lakes you can find local species of trout.

Breeding of local trout

During many years different project has worked towards a common goal, to improve the sport fishing in the area. This led among other things to an experiment started in 2003, where we tried to hatch trout. The project was run together with the Department for Aquaculture at Dingle Agricultural School.

Today the hatching and breeding places are moved to different locations for the different water systems: Grimån, Kynne älv and Töftedals/Örekilsälven.

The releasing of fish has been made in rounds in the different water systems. The County Administrative Board has given permission for the breeding of trout. The parent fish is also controlled by the National Veterinary Institute (SVA) in Uppsala.
