Kynnefjälls Natur is run by Leif and Mona Torstensson. The farm has been in the family for generations. In 1983 Leif and Mona took over the farm and started to develop other areas than farming. They both have workexperience and studies from different areas. Leif has among other things studied forestry and Mona is a social educationist. Both were longing to work closer to nature and the harmonic calmness nature creates. Together they had the experiences and knowledge necessary for starting Kynnefjälls Natur in 1995.

First the two timbercottages were built. Stabburet which was a Norwegian construction and Ugglebo, that was named after an owl who moved into its chimney. The activity has since then constantly developed. In the future there are plans to build a woodheated sauna, a servicebuilding for the guests with extra showers and a kitchen, and more hotel rooms. The couple´s plans for the future is always changing and also developing according to the ideas and wishes from guests and friends, so don´t hesitate to contact us if you have some interesting ideas.

Kynnefjälls Natur offers plenty of space for breathing and relaxation. The guests are invited to share another rythm, an opportunity to follow the cycles and changes of day and night and the seasons of the year and reconnect to a natural rythm. Hunt, fishing and hiking are the basic theme that complemented with creative and evolving experiences makes a genuine mixture, meant to promote joy and health of the farm´s guests.

The food is very influenced by the nature around the farm. Game and fish from the mountain lakes, lingonberries, blueberries and mushrooms are natural ingredients that creates the foundation of an enjoyable, healthy and high quality dinner experience.

We find it important to care for the nature we use to save it for coming generations. So our ambition is to have the ecological thinking walk hand in hand with sustainable economy and good social climate for our guest and for us who work here. For the facility this means recycling and composting and avoiding disposable products as much as possible. We also run projects in aquaculture, wildlife management and fish breeding.
